A brief preface. MCC’s mission is to promote noble deeds, the understanding of nature, and nationalism. Most of what I’ve written or recorded lately has been great books oriented, but sometimes I think it is important to write about politicians who fight against the ruling class that would be delighted if they could cancel those books forever.
The mainstream media has been quick to attack President Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance for who he follows on X, noting that he follows the radio host Bronze Age Pervert, the health and fitness expert Raw Egg Nationalist, and the humble book publisher L0mez among others. They are going back to the same old and tired playbook they have reliably made use of for well over a decade now. They are trying to frame Vance as a fascist / racist through guilt by association reasoning.
They are going to try to cancel him. And as others have pointed out, what this really means, is that they want him to die a painful and humiliating death. What else does one hope for when they try to cut a person off from any future hope of employment?
As Chris Rufo recently noted, merely calling someone a racist doesn’t work anymore. It is merely used to denounce what the Left doesn’t like. And as a consequence, the accusation lacks the sting and moral authority that it used to possess in the minds of many Americans. So, what should Vance do when he is inevitably asked: “Why do you follow BAP on X? Didn’t you know that he said body builders were deployed to pleasure Ben Shapiro’s wife?”
He should laugh. And so should we.
He should, as Donald Trump Jr. did at the RNC, tell the media that they are unserious people who have done irrevocable damage to the nation. Among many other things, the media is complicit in covering up for a zombie president and then pretending to be surprised when they “discovered” it. What is worse, they prepared the way for Trump’s assassination attempt. When the media says every day that someone is a Hitler who will end democracy, it creates a moral imperative to do something about it. And on top of that, their lack of interest in holding people accountable for the disgusting negligence of the Secret Service, is the cherry on top of this mud pie (yes, Cheatle has resigned, but will the Secret Service change? Will anyone go to jail for criminal negligence? Will there be any kind of transparent investigation?)
Now is the moment when the mainstream politicians on the Right have a chance to break free of the Left’s framing. It is no longer about proving that the Left are the “real racists.” That plays into the Left’s hands and will always lose. Conservatives should not be interested in policies that are targeted to increase equity for black citizens (or any particular group); rather, everything has to be framed in terms of what is best for the nation. If cracking down on crime impacts certain groups more than others, so be it.
What is more, David Azerrad always points to Pat Buchanan’s quote that courage is contagious. Who is more courageous right now than Donald Trump? He has endured the most disgusting slander, the possibility of jail time, and even spilled blood for his country. Trump’s courage sets the tone. His refusal to apologize for his desire to make America great again will surely have not gone unnoticed by Vance.
Furthermore, the infusion of the tech Right (Musk, Thiel, Andreessen, Sacks, etc) grants more money, power, and prestige than the MAGA Right could have imagined in 2016. And Thiel is a very direct supporter of Vance. In other words, as the media throws the kitchen sink at him--which will still hurt--he does not have to bend the knee. The media is at its lowest point of credibility and the Right is more energized and ascendant than I've seen in my lifetime.
The effect of trying to cancel Vance will have a rallying effect. The Right will stand with Vance and be inspired by his courage when he doesn’t apologize. Because he has done nothing to apologize for (the so-called “couch discourse” is just noise).
And, so far, he has laughed at those who pointed out how he prevented woke ambassadors from being appointed—and, he has doubled down on his “cat lady” comments. The Left is anti-family! He wasn’t wrong. The more I read about Vance the more I’m heartened by Trump’s selection of him.
Thanks for crossposting! Regime Critic is an outstanding and HIGH energy substack.
the new Right has to know this - always attack, never defend.
