While the painting of The Anger of Achilles by Jean Louis David is remarkable in its depiction of Achilles and Agamemnon, it’s not a picture of the scene in Book One. It takes place before Agamemnon and Achilles sail for Troy so ten years before the events in Book One.

I much prefer Peter Paul Ruben’s’ The Wrath of Achilles depicting the quarrel between the two men.
